Duties and responsibilities of the Administration and Management Function
Through the Administration and Management Function, the Office shall ensure good management and administration of the Office, and shall also respond to requests for information and assist the Coordinator of Investigations responsible for Complaints,
Investigations and Mediation to receive, file and manage complaints.
In cooperation with the administration of the Office of the Prime Minister, the Administrative Officer shall:
Assist the Language Commissioner in the daily management of the Office;
Provide administrative and secretarial support services for the Language Commissioner and the staff of the Office;
Provide, where required, translation and interpretation services in both official languages and other languages in accordance to the Law, either directly or through the roster of language assistants of the Language Policy Network;
Provide financial and operational information to the Language Commissioner and staff of the Office;
Monitor, analyze and report on administrative and financial planning, budgeting, budget execution and accounting of the Office.
The Administrative Officer shall also assist the Coordinator of Investigations responsible for Complaints, Investigations and Mediation to:
Receive, file and manage complaints submitted to the Office by any natural or legal person, collect information from the complainant, clarify their allegations and inform them of the complaint procedures;
Respond, in coordination with the Language Commissioner, the Coordinator of communications, and relevant staff of the Office, to requests for information formulated by the general public or public officials in relation to the Law, linguistic rights and the role and mandate of the Office.
